Please tell me what the Bible says about faith and healing. I have been suffering with pain for a long time. Despite my belief that God is able to heal; the prayers of many Christians; and conventional medical practices, I have not been healed. Yet some Christians continue to tell me that if I had enough faith, I would indeed be healed. Is there an answer for me?
Faith is vitally important, and yes, God does answer prayers but not always. Perhaps your pain will still be cured, but if it is not it doesn't mean that your faith is weak. We must use God's word to find the answers to all of life's problems. The more we read and understand our Bible, the meaning for life opens to us. Even God's son Jesus prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." (Luke 22:42), God did not take away Jesus' suffering because it had a purpose. The apostle Paul prayed earnestly and asked God to take away his "thorn in his flesh", but God's reply was "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). God uses all sorts of situations to test our faith and build our character. Maybe this is one of them.
