We are now going to jump forward a thousand years in time and turn a long way through the Bible to the New Testament. Read Luke 1:26-38 and Luke 2:1-40

Luke 1:32-33 tells us that Jesus is the child God talked about in his promises to King David. Jesus will be a king and rule forever. It will be a time of peace on earth (Luke 2:10-14).

In Galatians 3:16 we have a link between Jesus and the promises to Abraham. Luke 1:32 told us that it was the throne of King David that Jesus would inherit, and looking back we see that King David ruled over the nation that started with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
