Hope for you and me

We have looked at some promises given to Israelites and how they relate to the nation of Israel or individual Jews. Today we want to find out what they mean for you and me.

Jesus told his disciples to preach the good news to 'all the world'. We find this in Mark 16:15-16 where he tells us to 'believe' and 'be baptised'. When we are 'baptised' or 'buried in water' we symbolically connect ourselves with Jesus. Read how in Romans 6:3-14. Once we have been baptised Gal 3:26-29 tell us that this makes you and me part of the promises to Abraham.

Now read Eph 2:11-22. Wow! What a privilege to become members of God's household and citizens in his kingdom.

This makes it really important for us to be sure that what we believe is correct and the only way we can do this is to be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 and search our Bibles to see if what we are being told is correct.
