In Step 2 we learnt that we have inherited 'mortality' from Adam and Eve. Jesus was mortal too, so he had to die.

1 Peter 2:21-22 tells us that JESUS NEVER SINNED. Jesus is the only person EVER who has achieved this (Hebrews 4:14-15). Death is the result of sin (Romans 6:23), so God could not allow Jesus to remain dead or he would be breaking his own rule. On the third day God brought Jesus back to life again.

This was an amazing event and naturally it took his friends and followers a while to understand and believe what had happened. Read about their reactions in Luke 24:1-44.

Over the next 40 days (Acts 1:3) Jesus appeared to many people convincing them he was alive and teaching them about the kingdom of God.
